Sewing Club Ep. 4 Clo Bias Skirt By Soften Studio

Welcome back to Episode 4 of The Sewing Club Podcast! This week, we're diving into a must-have for any capsule wardrobe: The Clo Bias Skirt by Soften Studio. This bias skirt, with elasticated waist and waist ties, offers the ultimate blend of comfort and style. Whether you're dressing it down for a casual day or sprucing it up with a fancy fabric, it's a super versatile skirt.
We're incredibly thankful to Melody from Soften Studio for ultimately deciding to release this pattern as it almost didn't make it out into the sewing world.
Here's the quick rundown:
Size: 10 graded out to a 12 at the waist
Sewing Label: Capsule Collection by KATM
When it comes to making the Clo Bias Skirt it's really important to take your time at the cutting stage. It's got just three main pieces, so slow, careful cutting should make the sewing process a breeze.

I opted for a size 10 and graded out slightly at the waist, though this probably wasn't entirely necessary, but it did add to the skirts comfort!! The material I chose was silk cotton voile, which struck the perfect balance between being easy to sew and swishy to wear.

A word of advice: steer clear of thick, heavy materials for this skirt. Light, drapey fabrics will do wonders, enhancing the skirt’s flow and fit. Also, make sure to stick to the cutting layout plan. For more tips on cutting on the true bias, Melody’s YouTube channel is an invaluable resource.

I decide to use Banrol to hem my skirt - perfect for slippy, lightweight fabrics. Check out the product information on how to do this.
So, if you're ready to add this essential piece to your collection, The Clo Bias Skirt awaits. Join us as we explore the ins and outs of this fabulous pattern, ensuring your sewing journey is as smooth and enjoyable as the skirt itself.
